This 32 hour program will certify personnel as wildland firefighters making them eligible to be ‘red carded’ for wildland fires on state and federal lands upon successful completion of their fire department’s physical agility testing each year. Topics covered will include fireline safety, weather, topography, fire behavior, tool use and maintenance, hoselays, handline construction, urban interface, and live fire suppression exercises. Participants will be required to successfully complete a written exam at the completion of the program for final certification.

All participants are required to bring full wildland PPE. Hardhat, leather gloves, leather 8” boots,wildland shirt and pants or nomex coveralls and fire shelter Lunch and refreshments provided.
