Incident Type: Passenger Vehicle Fire

Date: April 30, 2004

Location: 15210 Gibralter Road

SUMMARY: Fire was reported at 3:05 a.m. by neighbor who heard the car alarm of the burning vehicle. Eleven firefighters from District 11 responded to the call. On arrival, fire crews found Ford Expedition fully involved within seven feet of residence. Crews quickly brought the fire under control, and it was reported extinguished at 3:41 a.m. The vehicle was a complete loss. Cause of fire hasnt been determined.

PREVENTION: Fortunately for the resident, he did not park his car in the garage that night. If he had, he could of lost his home. Garages, especially if they are attached to the house, should have a working smoke detector.
