Incident Type: Chimney Fire

Location: Aqua Court

SUMMARY: Alarm was originally toned at 10:04 a.m. as a structure fire in the attic. Mutual Aid was requested from District 13. On arrival, fire crews discovered fire was contained to the chimney. Fire was reported controlled at 11:00 a.m. Resident reported that flew had not been cleaned in 5 plus years.

PREVENTION: Fire could have been prevented if resident had cleaned chimney. Chimneys should be swept yearly.
