Incident Type: Structure Fire / Residence

Date: January 01, 2005

Location: Rosario Road

SUMMARY: Alarm was originally toned as a fully involved structure fire. Mutual Aid was requested from Anacortes Fire Department. First units on scene found house fully involved with flames coming out the roof. District 11 firefighters quickly brought the fire under control using foam from the deck gun on the engine. Fire was determined to have ignited from a baseboard heater left on in the residence.

PREVENTION: Baseboards heaters should be vacuumed every six months. These heaters attract dust and debris, which can cause ignition.
